Meet the Rivas Family
Brother William Rivas was born in Matagalpa, Nicaragua. At the age of eight, he and his family fled Nicaragua to the United States due to the ongoing civil war. He received the baptism of the Holy Ghost at age eleven, and at thirteen his family immigrated to Canada, where he was baptized in Jesus' name shortly after arriving.
Sister Natalie Rivas began attending church at age ten after being invited to Sunday School by a lady from the congregation, and she received the baptism of the Holy Ghost soon thereafter.
Over the years, the Rivas family has served in many ministries — Sunday School, worship, youth ministry, discipleship, and church planting. With a strong burden for missions, they have traveled to many countries serving as missionary evangelists. Over the past decade, they felt a growing call to the country of William's birth. With each visit to Nicaragua, their burden deepened, and God confirmed that in His timing He would open doors for them to walk through.
Today, those doors have opened wide. The Rivas family has stepped through them and now serves in Nicaragua as full-time missionaries.
